Portugal

I was born in Coimbra, Portugal in 1981. In 1986 I moved to the city of Tomar with my parents. There I accompanied my father who's an historian when he took photographs of monuments and churches for his work. That must have been my first contact with photography.

For some years I always liked taking pictures of everything around me, and I even got to take the promotional pictures of a friends band, and took shots at a few concerts, even though not professionally.

When I got to college, I decided to go to a graduation in Technology and Graphic Arts at the Technical Institute of Tomar, where I had a class on photography. That was probably my favorite class in the whole course. By the end of it I had decided I wanted to change my way and become a photographer.

After finishing my first course I changed to a Superior Photography course also at the Technical Institute of Tomar where I took classes with some great names in the Portuguese photography like José Soudo, Luis Pavão, Claudio Melo and Duarte Amaral Netto.

During the course I developed my work in concert photography and some author work. My final work was at the Ethnographic Museum of Riachos where I spent three months photographing every piece in the museum as well as some promotional photos for exhibit.

After I finished the course I've been working on several areas, mostly as a freelance photographer, especially on concert photography, having worked at the festival Bons Sons at Cem Soldos, Vagos Open Air and Hallow Fest at Hard Club in Gaia.

I also made a few exhibits, particularly one in Porto at Contagiarte with other artists in different areas named "Desmascarar" and another at Casa dos Cubos in Tomar about the Bons Sons Festival in Cem Soldos, both with very good reviews.

Lately, I've been working in product photography as well as keeping up with my author work mainly in studio and some concert photography as well. I've also been working with the Portuguese band Ashes, making promotional photos as well as designing the album cover for their latest work "ecilA" (yet to be released).
